An independent magazine about the ideas, places and objects shaping contemporary luxury.
HIGHER is an independent lifestyle magazine. We write about fashion and the Fashion Weeks of New York, London, Milan and Paris; about bags, jewellery, watches and the devices we carry; about cars, journeys, hotels and the art of receiving; about skin, scent, rooms and tables.
We are not a shop, and we do not sell the things we write about. Our job is to look closely, explain clearly and recommend honestly.
How we work
Reporting that depends on news — show calendars, product specifications, prices, dates and quotations — is checked against primary sources: organisers, federations and manufacturers. Every such story lists its sources and the date we checked them. When a date is only reported, not confirmed by the organiser, we say so.
During our launch period some stories are marked DEMO — editorial example. They show the tone and format of HIGHER, contain no news claims and are clearly labelled.
Images
We use photographs and illustrations made for HIGHER or licensed for our use. When a story has no cleared image, we use a typographic cover rather than borrowing someone else's photograph.
